Two Killed After Motorcyclist Flees Police, Runs Red Light in Far East Bexar County
According to a KSAT News report, a motorcyclist caused a fatal crash in Far East Bexar County while evading police.
Police reported the accident happened on Tuesday, August 13th, sometime in the afternoon on Loop 1604 near Graytown Road. Authorities were following a motorcycle that was reported missing on July 9th, and the motorcyclist was wanted for drug trafficking. When he noticed the police, he took off, aided by two other motorcyclists who attempted to stall the police. When he approached 1604 near North Graytown Road, he ran a red light, crashing into another vehicle. Two people were confirmed dead, though their identities were not released. The report did not say if anyone else was injured.

- Search Ahead — Search far ahead of the road in front of you. Look for hazards such as motorists looking to make a right turn, road debris, or signs warning of upcoming hazards.
- Don’t Ride in Blind Spots — Stay out of blind spots whenever possible.
- Assume Nothing — Don’t assume a driver can see you, and don’t assume the right-of-way just because you have it. Instead, try to make eye contact with other drivers and let passenger vehicles pull into an intersection first as an added layer of protection.
- Follow the Rules of the Road — Don’t ride between vehicles, lane split, or ignore a traffic signal.
These tips don’t exclude the steps that all drivers should take, such as looking twice before proceeding through an intersection and waiting a couple of seconds after the light turns green to go.
