Project Cool Wins June 2024 Pay It 4Ward Award from the Carabin Shaw Law Firm

The most vulnerable in our city are at risk this summer for heat-related injuries.

San Antonio is expecting temperatures this year to be hotter than ever. Project Cool is here to help. Any senior (ages 55+), or any person with disabilities in San Antonio is eligible to receive a box fan to help prevent heat-related illnesses. Carabin Shaw was proud to award this non-profit with $1,000 last month to help them reach their goal as part of our Pay It 4Ward program.

To get a box fan, call the United Way Helpline at 2-1-1. Fans are available all throughout July and into September. Each person may receive one fan.

How You Can Help

Thousands of seniors in San Antonio rely on Project Cool every summer. They give out hundreds of box fans a day and are always in need of donations.

You can bring up to four box fans to any San Antonio fire station (except for Station 23 at the airport) or more than 5 fans to the St. Stephen’s Care Center, located at 2127 S Zarzamora Street. If you would like to make a monetary donation of any amount, checks can mailed to Project Cool payable to “Project Cool c/o Catholic Charities” to Catholic Charities of San Antonio located at 202 W French Place.
