(September 19, 2022) On February 17, 2020, a 19-year-old girl named Jasmine Marie Goudeau was driving home down Culebra Road just after midnight. She was driving through an intersection just one block away from her home when a suspected drunk driver ran a red light, T-boning the vehicle and killing her. On March 5, 2022, two pedestrians were killed on the same night, one of whom was crossing Culebra Road. Deadly accidents on Culebra are not uncommon. In fact, a report by San Antonio Express-News compiled data provided by the Texas Department of Transportation and found that Culebra is the deadliest frontage road in San Antonio. Hazardous Materials on Interstate Highways

(August 8, 2022) A semi-trailer hauling a flammable liquid caused Interstate 10 East to close for twenty hours after an accident that resulted in the hazardous liquid being spilled in the roadway, according to San Antonio Express-News. Police did not say what caused the accident on Sunday, August 7, 2022, only that the portion of the Interstate would be closed to clean up the spill. The Interstate reopened today at 4 p.m., but the access road between Pfeil Road and FM 1518 has remained closed. No injuries have been reported from the accident.

Thirteen-year-old Dies in Live-Streamed Auto Accident in Abilene

(August 1, 2022) On Wednesday, June 22, 2022, a thirteen-year-old boy stole a car and live-streamed the event before crashing into a pole and killing his passenger, according to On Your Side News.

Officials reported that the oldest person in the vehicle was fifteen, and there was a thirteen-year-old driver and passenger, as well as one fourteen-year-old, for a total of four children. Authorities were alerted by concerned parents that their child was driving a stolen vehicle toward the Dallas area while live-streaming on social media. The stolen vehicle was spotted leaving the scene of a convenience store robbery before being found in a hotel parking lot at around 4 a.m. Police reported that the boy hit the patrol vehicle before speeding off into a light post, ejecting his thirteen-year-old passenger and critically injuring himself and the other passengers. The children were transported to the hospital, where the ejected passenger died from his injuries. It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol were involved.
