Driver Crashes Truck into Cell Phone Store This Week on the Northwest Side

According to a KSAT News report, severe consequences resulted from a driver mishap this week.

Police reported the accident occurred on Monday morning at the T-Mobile store on the 800 block of Grissom Avenue, inside Loop 1604 near Culebra. A driver of a pickup truck was reportedly on his way to pay his wireless bill when he hit the gas instead of the brakes. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident, though a gaping hole is all that remains of the storefront. The police did not press charges at the time of the report.

Pedal errors are a leading cause of vehicle-into-building crashes in the United States.

Compensation After an Injury from a Vehicle-Into-Building Crash in San Antonio

It’s not all that uncommon for a vehicle to crash into a building in Texas.

There are many reasons why these accidents happen: pedal error, auto accidents, drunk driving — the list goes on. But what happens if you’re hurt while in your home or at a business when these accidents happen? Does compensation come from the driver, your home insurance, or the business? Let’s take a look.

Car Crashing Into a Home

Very few things are quite as jarring as when a vehicle suddenly joins your family at the dining room table.

If you or a family member is hurt by a vehicle hitting your house, compensation can come from the following places:

  • The Driver — If they caused the accident.
  • Another Driver — If they caused the accident that forced the driver into your home.
  • Your Homeowners Insurance — If the driver is underinsured or not insured at all.
  • A Third-Party — If construction or faulty traffic signals contributed to the accident.

Liability is not always clear — if a car hits your house and injures you, consider calling an attorney before filing an injury claim. You may be eligible for compensation from multiple parties.

Car Crashing Into a Business

If you’re hurt by a vehicle crashing into a restaurant or other business, compensation can come from the following places:

  • The Driver — If they caused the accident.
  • Another Driver(s) — If they caused the accident that forced the driver into the building.
  • The Business — If they were aware of the risk of this kind of accident and did nothing to maintain the safety of their customers.
  • A Third-Party — If construction or other circumstances caused the accident.
  • PIP/UIM Coverage — If the driver caused the accident but had no insurance or it was not enough to cover the cost of your injuries.

Usually, determining liability in a storefront crash case requires a thorough investigation. An experienced auto accident firm has access to extensive resources and investigators to ensure that all potentially liable parties are found.
