Woman Killed in Accident Involving Semi Truck on the South Side

According to a KSAT News report, one person died in an 18-wheeler accident in Atascosa County this morning.

Police reported the incident occurred at around 10:47 a.m. this morning on the access road of IH 37 in Atascosa County. A 58-year-old woman driving a Honda Fit apparently ran a stop light and was hit by a passing big rig. The crash sent the tractor-trailer down the embankment, and the driver was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported. The crash shut traffic down at the 113-mile marker near Pleasanton until after 3 p.m.
