Highway Construction Hits Sign, Closes U.S. 90

According to a KSAT News report, a construction accident led to the closure of U.S. 90 on the West Side yesterday, August 14, 2023.

The Texas Department of Transportation reported the closure was caused by an auto accident combined with a construction accident that occurred at around 9 a.m., causing some 2 hours of delays. Apparently, a contractor was paving in the area of U.S. 90 near JBSA-Lackland when they accidentally struck a highway sign with their crane. A separate auto accident also occurred at the same time, causing significant delays, though no injuries were reported.
